Established
2004

The purpose of Fluff Buddies is to provide shelter, food, medical care, and love to Siamese, Maine Coon, and other homeless felines until we find them loving, forever new homes. The majority of our rescued felines come from local high-kill shelters. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group of dedicated volunteers.

Its objectives are:

  • To rescue, rehabilitate, and place abandoned and homeless felines into permanent, loving homes.
  • To convince the public of the importance of spay/neuter as the only humane way to control animal overpopulation.
  • To educate the public about the proven link between owning a pet and enjoying better physical and emotional health.

Services

This local organization provides shelter, health care and spay/neuter opportunities for homeless cats. The services are free to anyone but donations are needed to keep this organization running. These services are offered until all the spaces are filled or the money from grants and donations runs out, whichever comes first, according to an interview with Lynda Bates who is a member of the Board of Directors of Fluff Buddies as well as the Treasurer.

Volunteering

More families are always needed to help take care of and provide a temporary home for the cats. No special training is needed. Volunteers are also needed to assist with a wide range of activities such as fund-raising, fostering, working adoption events, writing, transporting kitties, and more. Contact the number given above for more information.

Wish List

Donations, monetary and 'wish list' items, are always needed and appreciated. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Some of our 'wish list' items include:

  • Cat and kitten food, such as Nutro Natural, ProPlan, Science Diet, Purina One
  • KMR Formula (powdered) for orphaned kittens
  • Kitty litter
  • Towels, blankets and other warm bedding
  • Paper towels
  • Animal carriers
  • Copying and printing services
  • Advertising space
  • Humane traps and small animal nets
