The Backstage Lounge operates more like a venue than a restaurant; it is only open for special events, both public and private. The facility has a bar, and chef Lenny Calandrino oversees a menu of small plate style dishes. The location also plays host to live music from time to time.
The business originally opened in 2009 as the Backstage Lounge, and the restaurant served Asian fusion cuisine, and was open evenings. It was renamed from the Backstage Lounge to the Backstage Kitchen in June of 2010, serving breakfast and lunch, but then closed, and re-opened most recently again as Backstage Lounge.
The owner Laurence Bedfored also owns the Rio Theatre.
