The bboys of Santa Cruz are a group of affiliate dancers who originate not only in Santa Cruz and neighboring cities such as San Jose, but country-wide due to the proximity to the UC Santa Cruz campus. These street performers occasionally perform street shows at the corner of Pacific Avenue across from O'neill Surf Shop. The dancers often spend much of their performance earnings on batteries and a performer's license and can often be seen practicing on the UCSC campus.
