2009-01-02 13:26:19   I ate lunch today, 1/2/09, at the Capitola Grill. I was looking forward to trying it out since it changed ownership last month. I must say I was disapointed. The service was extremely slow, and when the food did get there it was cold. The prices were not bad, although I expected better since they were advertising "New lower prices". I hope that the problem was because they just opened, but it will be awhile before I try it again.

2009-10-07 11:02:26   My wife and I, and three friends had brunch there about a month ago. The food was basic Americana and was good. Prices were very reasonable. Service was good, no complaints. This location used to be the old Lyons Restaurant, part of the chain. Some of the old decor colors are still evident, which was basically orange. The new owners have done a good job getting their business up and running on an obviously limited budget. What the place lacks in "charm," is made up by it's local (Capitola) flavor, and the fact that they didn't scrimp on servings or quality. Don't expect high cuisine, just a good decent meal in a pleasant, family style atmosphere. —Srfnff
