Drive Like Your Kids Live Here
It is legal to post a sign on your own property (with few restrictions). New to Santa Cruz County are the red and white "DRIVE LIKE YOUR KIDS LIVE HERE" signs.
You can finds these in residential areas, where traffic can get scary. These signs are bought and posted by local residents who hope drivers will be more cautious. As long as the signs are not posted onto street lamps, utility polls, traffic signs or government property (like a bridge), they are legal.
In a few cases you might see photos of the signs posted along -side of traffic signs. Some cities, (like New Milford, Connecticut) have actually bought some signs and give them official status.
