| The Arts |
| A rich variety of Arts Division offerings are taught by accomplished artists and provide extensive opportunities for student involvement in music, the visual arts, theater and dance. Music theory is complemented by many performing groups and classes including chorus, jazz choir, chamber choir, jazz ensemble and orchestra and performers record in the school’s recording studio with the assistance of the audio engineering class. Performing arts includes drama techniques, methods and theater labs, two dramatic productions each year and dance. Visual arts includes painting, sculpture, photography and book arts. New facility enhancements include middle and high school art studios, a recording studio and audio engineering lab, kiln, darkroom, and a printing press for making books. While the official Kirby School Web site provides a wealth of information about the many and varied programs offered by the school, the community site conveys the warmth and dedication that characterizes the Kirby community. |
