Since 1996, the name "RadioShack" is spelled as one word. "The Shack" (as some call it) sells electronic parts and commercial electronics. At one time, it was estimated that more than 50% of retail electronic parts are sold through RadioShack. In February 2015 RadioShack filed for bankruptcy protection. Radioshack  sold 2,400 of its store locations to Sprint, a wireless service provider, and a hedge fund that is its majority shareholder. Those stores continued to operate as a RadioShack/Sprint hybrid, the remaining stores were closed.

Eventually a few stores remained a Sprint store with most RadioShack stores closing.  The web site continued to sell

electronics.  There are a few Radio Shack stores left in the USA. All are independently owned.

RadioShack had many private brands of tools batteries and electric toys..
