In 1966 the 14,395 square ft. building at 75 River Street was built as a Salinas Valley Savings and Loan. In 1969 they merged with Palo Alto Savings and Loan and became Palo Alto Salinas Savings and loan. In 1972 they changed the name to Northern California Savings.

The building at 75 River Street would go through seven name changes from 1966 to 2008: Salinas Valley Savings and Loan Palo Alto Salinas Savings Northern California Savings Great Western Savings Great Western Bank (see Great Western Savings) Washington Mutual  and Coast Commercial Bank.  The Watsonville location went through the same changes, except it became a Chase bank after Washington Mutual was bought by Chase.

The building has been vacant since 2008 when Wells Fargo Bank bought Greater Bay Bank which included Coast Commercial Bank. Wells Fargo Bank already had a branch across the street and closed the branch on 75 River Street.
