Once the home of the Calamari Festival, put on by India Joze in the early 1980s, Squid Row is a small, funky one way alley between Chestnut Street and Union Street (near Center Street) on the edge of downtown Santa Cruz. Some of the businesses on Squid Row are not marked with address numbers, and their mail is addressed to Chestnut Street.

Though it is small, there are a lot of interesting artistic details to look at, including the tower-like, artsy architectural embellishments near the top of the old Enterprise Iron Works building.

Squid Row is also called Squid Row Alley.
