It is considered one of the biggest parties of the year by those who don't actually take part in the race, but choose to dress up in costumes and drink the entire route. Several thousand people participate. Lately, the city and race organizers has been cracking down on race floats and drunks. All floats are banned and there is zero tolerance on alcohol in the race.

Next Bay to Breakers will be on May 17, 2015
