The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (GGBHTD) is the agency responsible for maintenance and operation of the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as the Golden Gate Transit bus system and Golden Gate Ferry. The GGBHTD runs on funds raised through bridge tolls as well as fares from its buses and ferries, and is bestowed some government grants, and not through taxes.
