Japantown (or "Nihonmachi") is an area of San Francisco, North of the Western Addition, East of The Sunset, and South of Pacific Heights.

Japantown is the heart of Japanese culture in San Francisco, and features a wide range of Japanese businesses and restaurants. The Japanese area of San Francisco was originally much larger, but much of this land was taken away when Japanese citizens were put in internment camps in World War 2.

Today, Japantown is a fraction of its former size, but still a vibrant source of Japanese culture in the city. This includes the yearly Cherry Blossom Parade and the Nihonmachi Street Fair.
