Milk is a film released in 2008 about the life of Harvey Milk. The film was directed by Gus Van Sant and stars local resident Sean Penn.
Many of the scenes were shot in San Francisco, and The Castro was given a makeover to adopt a 1970's appearance appropriate to the film.
