Raven's Manzanita (Arctostaphylos hookerii ssp. ravenii) is an endangered evergreen shrub native to San Francisco.  Discovered in 1952 by local botanist Peter Raven, by 1987 only a single individual existed. While the plant has been successfully cloned, fertile seeds have yet to be produced and fungal infections continue to threaten the species' continued existence. While the location of the original plant and it's clones is secret, it's widely know to be within the Presidio.
