SF Fire Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that offers all of the services of a bank. They offer free checking and savings accounts. The checking and savings accounts do not have minimum balance requirements and they do not have monthly fees. The Free Checking account also offers ATM fee rebates. You can use any ATM to get cash and they will refund all surcharges.
The first box of checks for new customers is free.
They also offer free notary, free traveler's checks, free cashier's checks, and free money orders.
SF Fire Credit Union also offers a rewards credit card where you can earn 1% cash back on all purchases.
SF Fire Credit Union has two branch locations in San Francisco. They also offer shared branch services. You can bank in person at any participating credit union that is a member of the Shared Branch network. You can get cash, deposit money, etc. There are over 4,000 locations nationwide. Deposits can be made at any ATM that is part of the Co-Op ATM Network. Virtually all credit union ATMs are part of this network.
Membership is open to individuals who live, work, worship or attend school in San Francisco, San Mateo or Marin County. You can also join if you are in the following groups: Firefighters of the San Francisco Fire Department, Firefighters who live or work in San Francisco, San Mateo or Marin County, members of the California State Firefighters’ Association, Family of San Francisco Fire Credit Union members.
