Who created this wiki?

The wiki was created by Chip Roberson, a resident of Sonoma,CA .

Why was this wiki created?

Chip has created several websites and social networks for his community (Sonoma Valley Cyclists, CycleSonoma, WiredSonoma, Organizing for America - Sonoma Valley) but felt what was missing was a unifying site that captured the totality of our community. A user-created/user-maintained wiki seemed to be the solution.

Who owns the wiki?

While Chip has the administrative responsibility with wikispot, the content of the site is owned by the community.

Does the wiki cost anything?

No, the wiki is hosted by a non-profit company called WikiSpot, based in Davis, CA . The Wiki Spot project is a multicommunity, non-profit effort to help communities collaborate via wikis. We encourage you to donate to WikiSpot to help support their efforts and this wiki.

Can anybody edit the wiki?

Yes, anybody can edit the wiki as long as he or she has created an account and logged in.

What about spam?

Yes, Spam can be a problem as what is the strength of the wiki is also its weakness – anybody can edit it. However, it is easy to counteract spam. When you find it, just click on the Info button at the top, find the previous, correct version of the page and click on revert. It's almost as simple as hitting the delete key in your email reader.
