ART EXPLOSION TOLEDO ANNOUNCES

ADDITIONAL ARTISTS AND PERFORMERS FOR FEBRUARY SHOWCASE

(Toledo, OH), Jan 22, 2013—Art Explosion Toledo, an organization that unites local visual artists with alternative venues for displaying their work, will host an Opening Reception for the public to celebrate its inaugural Artists Showcase on Saturday, February 9, 2013. The group has added even more artists and performers to the event line-up.

The Opening Reception will take place at Ukazoo Books, located at 830 N. Westwood Avenue, from 4-9pm. The public is invited to meet the Art Explosion Toledo collective of artists and view the featured artwork. The event will include refreshments, music, door prizes, and a silent auction, as well as children’s activities including crafts and face painting.

The Opening Reception is the first in a series of events that feature a collection of artists, musicians, and performers. Updated participating artists include Klaire Russell, Amy Hernandez-Bullano, Dani Herrera, Bert Spangenthal, Chad Watt, Christie Materni, Ellen Koeberlein, Janis Sweet Hoye, Chris McAnall, Vicki Lee, Greg Justus, Jeff Weiser, Jessica Flowers, KC Saint John, Kimberly Adams, Mark Johnson, Kimberly Nelson, Madison Saint John, Jeannine Dailey, Owen Fairman, Sara Krupinski, Jace Ryan, Chris Eichenberg, Janet Ritter Davies, Sarah Sobel-Poage, and Michael Palmer.

The event will also feature live performances by area musicians in an open mic format, plus Live Painting by Klaire Russell, fire breathing by performance artist KC Saint John and food creations by Jmp Fruits & Vegetables Bouquets.

Art Toledo Explosion was founded by Michael Palmer, a local fine artist whose paintings were featured in the 2011 Art in Public Places program in Perrysburg. His works have also appeared in galleries nationwide and the book, An Artist's View - New York. Palmer will be among the artists displaying work in the inaugural Artists’ Showcase.
