Charlie LeFevre writes a regular column called "Thoughts" for the Territorial Dispatch. The column is a compilation of folksy or amusing quotes from famous people of decades past. The amusement is sometimes unintentional on Charlie's part, because some of the quotes have been translated in misleading ways by others; for example, Charlie's column of November 11, 2009, included this misleadingly translated quote from Plato: "The world is God's epistle—His thoughts are lashing upon us from every direction." The mistranslation of this quote leaves the false and rather bizarre impression that Plato was a Christian, or at least a monotheist, whereas of course Christianity hadn't even been invented in Plato's lietime, and Plato actually worshipped multiple ancient Greek gods.
