Clingan's Korean Karate Academy is the oldest continuous running martial arts academy in the Yuba-Sutter area. Established in 1971 by Grandmaster William Clingan, we are dedicated to the historical preservation and practice of traditional Tang Soo Do Korean Karate. We believe in teaching the art of Korean Karate, in pure form, which dates back to ancient history.

Karate is more than just learning to defend yourself... it's about respect, honor, integrity & self discipline. And here at our studio our desire is to teach these disciplines as we teach karate.

We want you to succeed, which is why our programs are geared toward helping all ages stay positive and motivated. Our masters are highly qualified and personable individuals with a true passion for teaching the art of Tang Soo Do. From the moment you enter our studio you will feel at home and excited to take part of the learning.

Our program is perfectly suited for all ages 5 and up, and in fact, we have one of the largest karate programs for kids in town.

Our association is distinguished by the teachings of our Grand Master, GM William Clingan, 9th Degree Black Belt (Dan #5845), who originally studied in Korea with some of the renowned Grand Masters.
