Live Oak High School is a public school in Live Oak. It includes 9th to 12th grades and serves approximately 480 students. It is currently a California Distinguished School with an API score of 785.

Athletics

Live Oak High School has a history of being a dominant school in athletics in the past. They hold rivalries with schools such as Willows, Winters, and Durham, but none more so than Gridley High School. Though these schools are a rivalry for any sport, there are certain teams that have sports-specific rivalries. These include Orland, Pleasant Valley, Corning (Boys Soccer), and Williams (Boys and Girls Basketball). From 2013-2015 LOHS competed in Division 2, but have since moved down to Division 3 due to drop in attendance. The boys soccer team was started in 2001 and has snagged five league championships and two California North Section titles in fifteen seasons. The football team has won four section championships, and eleven league championships. From 2004-2010 the Lions played in four North Section Championship games in the seven year period, earning the spot of 16th most dominant football program in the North Section modern era by Maxpreps. The Lions have since fallen off in a terrible fashion, boasting a 27-game losing streak, with their last victory coming in early September of 2013. LOHS's track team, also known as the giant slayers because of their ability to take on small schools, is widely regarded as one of the best-coached programs locally, disciplined by Greg Sanchez. In 2015, they nearly swept every category at the SVL League Championships, winning 3/4 categories including Varsity boys, Varsity girls, and JV girls. Live Oak's tennis program is the most fearsome of the school, amassing 12 league championships and  an astonishing 7 section titles coached by the heralded Coach Sanchez.
