Club Committee Meeting - Minutes of meeting held at clubrooms on Tuesday July 26th 2011

Meeting began:

Present:

W Fairley (chair), T Anderson, B Benham, E Harvey, V Liebelt, W Robertson, M Wheal (recorder).

Apology:

C Keller, M Keller, T Jacob.

Minutes of previous meeting:

It was moved W Robertson, seconded V Liebelt, and carried, that the minutes of the meeting held on May 18th as circulated be accepted as a true and accurate record of the business transacted.

Business arising:

Clearance for M Hollow: secretary’s action endorsed.
Council refurbishing: discussion postponed due to Trevor Jacob’s absence.
Flag design: design as sent by Sports Centre approved: secretary to advise.
Preseason matches: need to know programme dates. Barry Rimmer has agreed to organise matches. President to confirm arrangements.
Risk management policy: President to discuss with Council officers;
Come and try Bowls: to be discussed at next meeting;
Carpet cleaning: President to try to arrange for a Thursday;
Club raffle: to be discussed at next meeting.

Correspondence in:

From Bowls SA:
notification that as a country club there are no restrictions on our conducting events during the Asia-Pacific Championships Nov 28 to Dec11;
coaching certificate for Barry Rimmer (to be presented at club season opening).
Barry has supplied some sheets of coaching drills which bowlers can follow when attending practice. These will be duplicated and laminated and placed in a prominent position in the clubrooms.

Treasurer:

Accounts holding the following approximate amounts cheque $750, express savings $50000 (includes $23000 final payment to Tiger Turf), together with cash in hand approximately $500 and ladies cash approximately $500. Final GST return $2300 to come from ATO.
The subscriptions for season 2011-12 were confirmed to be $200.

General business:

Club Tournaments and events: Next meeting;
Heavy Jacks: Some turned up in the bowls shed and it was decided to wait and monitor needs before ordering more;
Opening of season: Sunday September 18th, casual garb, bring a plate for afternoon tea.
Other business:
V Liebelt undertook to contact G Schubert, electrician, to attend to power point for freezer and to fix the electricity cord on one of the large urns.
Consideration needs to be given to replacing the grass between the clubrooms and the Braendler Green with artificial grass.
