Hahndorf Community Association Inc. - AGM 2006

Minutes Of The Annual General Meeting Held At St. Michael's Church Hall on Wednesday 8th November 2006

Opened:

At 7.30pm, President Ann Haines welcomed the 19 people attending.
These included Guest Speaker, Mr. Lindsay Campbell and Mt. Barker Councilor, Mr. David Haines.

Apologies:

John Adams, Rodney Allen, Rosemary Canty, David Coombe, Anne & Michael Court, Margaret & Trevor Jacob, Lorraine & Stuart Robinson, Brian & Olivette Watson & Mr. Barry Wilkins.

Minutes of Previous AGM:

Were taken as read and confirmed. Moved John Woodberry, Sec., Phil Houston. Carried.

Matters Arising:

a. Main Street Master Plan Progress:
Ann spoke on the Status Quo of the Plan developed by the Advisory Committee and Consultant, Douglas Alexander.
The Plan has been endorsed by the Group and submitted to Council for their attention.
b. Walking Trail:
Anni Lurr-Fox gave a brief outline on the history of the Trail.
A logo has been designed ready for the planned opening of the Trail on 15th April 2007.
Safe access for pedestrian movement over the bridge at Hahndorf is yet to be provided.
The $2000 grant has so far not been acquitted.

Reports:

President:

Ann spoke at length on the projects of long standing and the newer initiatives currently involving HCA input and participation.
Of major interest is firstly the completion of the next 5 year plan developed by the Committee so as to maintain touch with the current climate of Hahndorf.
Secondly, a recently released news-letter namely Village Voice, to advise and inform residents of events and chatter in the township.
Thirdly, Hahnwiki -www.hahndorf.org.au is a recently established website for the dissemination of Hahndorf News which can be accessed by anyone having an interest and/or current comment to add. Other Hahndorf organizations have information on the site.
Many thanks to Tony Finniss who has worked for two years to set up this project.

Financial Report:

Treasurer, Eric Aliffe read the report on the Associations finances. See attached audited Balance Sheet.

General Business:

Hahnwiki:

Tony Finnis spoke of the website he has developed as a source of growing information regarding Hahndorf.
The site is currently attracting up to 70 accesses and up to 500 hits per day.

Election of 2007 Committee:

David Haines declared all positions vacant and called for nominations.
Ann Haines & David Canty advised they would not be seeking re-election.
The following members have agreed to continue: Eric Aliffe, Russell Grivell, David Haines, Mike Hasler, Phil Houston & Trevor Jacob.
Absentee members to be approached are, Frank D’Arcy and Maureen Gordon.
All nominations were accepted. Officers will be elected from these members at the next meeting.

Guest Speaker:

Mr. Lindsay Campbell spoke of his management role in the forthcoming World Police & Fire Games to be held in March 2007 at several venues in Adelaide and surrounding districts and townships.
The Games are the third largest International Sporting Competition of this type to be held worldwide.
His computerized display of the promotional film of the Games was outstanding.
