Minutes of Previous Committee Meeting

Thank you to Maureen and Margaret who recorded March minutes.  Correction 2.1 to read " Jeff reported that an expression of interest draft has been completed".  Moved that Minutes are now correct J Germano,2nd P Houtson. Carried.

Business Arising

Entry Statement

As above ie draft expression of interest completed. DCMB is designing a land lease document for the site .

Grant Application

To DVA has been forwarded for regilding the lettering on the Memorial Quote $3810.00.  Maureen explained that a less expensive option could be sudo gold leaf which an artist could undertake . 4.3 River Road non complying development application. Not approved at DAP meeting March 25th.

T Finnis brought to committee attention that the cancellation of Extraordinary Committee meeting set for March 25th on this matter was unconstitutional,and having been minuted should proceed..  Discussion. Jean was advised by DCMB that the matter was to be addressed at DAP on March 25th-much earlier than anticipated. Extraordinary meeting of 25th seen as too late to make impact , objection withdrawn.  Consequences. i. follow constitutional protocol.  ii. committee responsible for noting any future advertised Category 3, or non complying development application.  III. make decision on merit to whole community re. action or not. Query as to whether this was a test case for Council. All heritage sites to be reviewed in 2016 by State Government.

 Strategic Plan

C Pittman-Reid, Colin P, J Bettcher developed Plan , edited by committee,hand delivered to Council staff with accompanying letters to G Waller, A Stuart, G Sarre. Follow up Action Christine.

Nixons Mill Project

Eric reported that the project Manager Andrew Gottzheim {DCMB] will call next meeting in May to which a Peramangk representitive will be invited along with other interested group.  This is seen as a 3 year plan.  Sub committee to be involve in all aspects . Boundary now ascertained.

Anzac Wreath Making

Ann reported that 16 to be made with school children at 9.00am on April 24th , possibly 18 at 2.00pm for organisations.  Leaves being sourced from 5 locations. To be collected about 4.00pm .  All volunteer pickers and makers are welcome.

Correspondence

In i. HAT activities for persons over 50 in DCMB area.  ii. letter from H Gallasch re Theile cottage outhouse demolition. Motion " that HCA indicates to DCMB Heritage staff person our support of views expressed by Mr Harold Gallasch regarding the demolition of the old Thiele cottage, and ask what resolution will be made upon the owner to replace said building" Moved H Gallasch2nd T Finnis,  Action Ann

Reports

Financial Balance at 8.04.2015 $3465.68 includes $500.00 set aside for Nixons Mill project  $800 175th booklet production

Heavy vehicles on Main Street. Sub committee met. Letter to reignite matter to be sent to DCMB.  Action Rick  It was noted that Barossa Valley councils have re routed heavy vehicles around large towns.

Council Matters Jeff reported that Budget discussions are under way. He is promoting several issues for Hahndorf district.

Village Voice Rick informed Committee of Wendy's progress.Group will be available to offer assistance when required. Meanwhile Gail Vort Randal , Cheryl McLean and Ann will work toward next edition.  NB The dedicated laptop computer is in care of Gail for now. PDF of winter edition to Tony for Hahnwikki please .

General Business

Recruitment. Discussion as to meeting time, and best approach to engaging new committee members, the objective being to create interest. Have this discussion at AGM prior to elections Highlight topic in Village Voice. Rick, Gail, Ann

Invite Dr Chris Daniels to speak...given the impact of the Strategic Plan and watershed issues

Other Business

Concerns of residents about visitors trampling plants in Pioneer Memorial Gardens at Easter weekend.  All day car parking in Haebich Lane precludes families reaching the playground safely Action Jeff.

Logo proposal . This appears to be a 'done deal' despite complaints Individuals should write to Courier.

Main Street name Can it be confirmed as the registered name .

Footpath clutter invite Compliance officer Mr Vardaro to next meeting to explain the regulations.  Action Ann
