3. Minutes of Previous Meeting 18 November 2015

Jim confirmed as correct, Wendy seconded.

4. Business Arising

Jean discussed the Seasonal Garden Café’s plans to create a community garden in new premises (next to Old Mill). Jean met with Sylvie, Jason Duffield, and Peter McGinn. Sylvie discussed vegetable beds, an orchard garden, cooking classes, music and public art. FYI, no action required other than providing Sylvie with a contact at Lions. Ann suggested Harry Tillyer, or Phil Guscott. Action Jean Wendy would like to be informed on progress.

6. Subcommittees 2015/16

6.1 Master Plan Submission - No movement

6.2 Heavy Vehicle Sub Committee - No response from DPTI. John suggests impact on trees by trucks (instability) should be considered.

Jeff thinks signage on Windsor Ave should be changed from 50 to 40, he is following up.

6.3 Nixon’s Mill Project - Eric reminded everyone of meeting tomorrow. David Collins not ready for press (Courier) yet. Looking for action at this point. The Mill is priority, painted and fenced. All invited to attend.

6.4 Parking - No report

6.5 Marketing/Community/Liaison/Networking - Formulating marketing plan, liasing with other community organizations which have an agenda for the town. Action Rick, Jim, Bruce Wishing well, a lot of issues, will be finished before Christmas.

Jeff suggests an interview with Hills radio 88.9. Colin Carpenter is keen to interview community groups and on what they are doing. Action Bruce

Eric asks what are we marketing? Rick replies ‘we must be able to answer who do you represent? We have a powerful response through the Village Voice and the Annual General Meeting. Jean would like to discuss possible AGM speakers in the January Meeting (in line with the marketing plan). Add to agenda Action Jean

7. Reports

7.1 Financial - Total funds $4429. $800 held for Nixon’s Mill. $871 175th finalization book. Total funds available to HCA $2758. Insurance due 16/1/16 $1010.

7.2 Entrance Statement Working on trying to fit 54 posts in 6x6 (better site). Margaret suggests there are too many signs on that side of the road – too cluttered. Will Entrance statement stand out? Ann questions if Palma’s has too many signs? Russell says Main Street can’t have flashing signs. Jeff will follow up as to whether Palma’s has planning approval for signage. Action Jeff

7.3 Council Matters - Policies are being looked at. Showground Master Plan has been completed. Includes walking track around oval. St. Francis wants to build 4 basketball courts, requested council pays for two. Deputy CEO Brian Clancy will follow up on round about and improve. Deb Buchmann Councillor elect. Send letter of congrats and invite her to one of our meetings. Action Jean Jeff also spoke about the sewage works in Mount Barker providing cash flow to council. Jim mentioned size of overburden on view from freeway. Questioned what will happen to it?

7.4 Planning Heritage - No report

7.5 Digital Progress Facebook/Wiki - Ongoing

7.6 Village Voice - on track with Wendy. Hahndorf Resort printed copies from election version sent by Mardi.

7.7 Community Commemorative Grant - completed.

8.1 Hahndorf Traders Xmas Charity Food Collection - follow up with Mardi Action Jean

9. Other Business

9.1 Tour Down Under Barbecue January 2016 - Ann has organized barbecue, marquee and Academy permission to use lawn. Jim suggested we wear German aprons.
