at 9.30am 2017 in the Hahndorf Institute Supper Room .

3. Minutes of Previous Meeting October 11 2017

4. Business Arising.

4.1 Deputy Chair Position . Bruce Mouatt previously indicated willingness to stand.

Nominated R Grivell, 2nd T Finnis . Elected.

4.2 Baton Relay . February 21 along Main St. To be continued in Reports.

Arrival of Maddie Dobson . Senior Policy Planner. MBDC .

Business suspended .

Maddie outlined the purpose of the Plan. ie to give Community opportunity to contribute,comment,discuss prior to setting of priority tasks over the 20 year implementation.

Maddie worked through the Draft Plan document, offering brief synopsis of each of the 6 themes.

Malcolm Invited members to refer to the attachment on their agenda/minute notice.

a. Heritage and culture

b.Carparking. i. long term parking objectives

ii. alleviate the problem short term. Include pedestrain/cycle access.

c. Open Space . Oval, parks. Actually open little space if Oval and Yantaringa area left out. Opportunity for Nature play areas, links to other trails such as Beerenberg,

Amy Gillet bike track.

d.Economic Development and Tourism. How to enhance the experience,revive the cultural precinct and interest in Hahndorf story.

e. Main Street. Renew infrastructure, paving, seating, signage etc.

f. Storm Water Management . i. Plan for the town creeks and run off frombuilt up areas.

ii.creekline management through private land.

Open to discussion.

* concern at Council staff turnover, which loses impact on process- Plans are forgotten.

* previous Plans 1982,1995,2016, All good, but not implemented successfully because of above.Therefore will Council adhere to the Plan.

* previous Plans adressed issues such as trader signage, but no control over this.

* need a Vision for the future, then add strategies . Cosmetic items OK for short term.

* town has only one thoroughfare . Must develop second outlet for emergencies.

* town boundaries are already being affected due to the Regional Development Plan Amendment findings as new ,large developments are being permitted close to the boundaries . viz River Road.

* historically the German influence is not correct.Tourism advertising not accurate .

* culture The Cedars is the most obvious place to support.

* consider PArk and Ride.

* Verdun 4 way run off will relieve all large vehicle matters. Commonwealth Government.

* Bridge over Onkaparinga will permit Women's Walking Trail into Hahndorf.

Chairman Malcolm asked for permission of Committee to deliver the HCA response to Council

as co/ written by Jean/Malcolm and sent to members. Added to this is a clause recommending the inclusion of The Cedars as part of the Plan .

Resolved that this be so. Document handed to Maddie Dobson.

Chairman Malcom asked for recommendatios as to how to move forward.

Resolution" that as the first step, a body be formed to establish priorities"

4.2 Baton Relay .Little information available as yet. Suggest any involvement be

straight forward, involve schools across the district, HCA only act as advisors and

in an advertising capacity.

8.1 Financial Contribution to Localwiki, payment for Mill morning tea .

8.3 Council Matters. Ciderhouse development Hearing Dec 20th.

Housing strategy being developed .

Hahndorf late trading Thursdays in December.

Regional Sporting Hub - All gov tiers funding $7.5 million in hand.

8.4 Remembrance Day Ceremony In hand Air Vice Marshal Mel Hupfeld from Canberra will present the address. Catafalque Party rehearsing. All help needed for set up on Saturday and for morning tea.600 poppies to be plantedat memorial on Thursday. Wreaths to be made Friday.

Ann pointed out that This event is one of the most important images HCA has. No RSL in town. Bravest of the Brave Exhibition to be mounted on Friday.
