Minutes of Committee Meeting held Wednesday 12th September 2012 at 9.30 am in Hahndorf Institute Supper Room .

Minutes of Previous Meeting of August 8th.

Confirmed as correct.

Business Arising.

1.   Hahnwiki upgrade

Jeff reported that he and Tony met with DCMB IT staff.

Not able to assist with Wiki site.  Continue next committee meeting.

2.   Council Works

a.  Pioneer Memorial Gardens upgrade.

  • John has met with Norm Key, DCMB.
  • Toilet replacement delay due to State Heritage involvement.
  • Paths at north of playground to be removed, trees planted.  Comment that shade trees preferable to shrubbery as a safety precaution.
  • Safety fence required along park edge adjacent to German Arms.
  • Vehicle parking signage needs clarification adjacent to playground.

b.  Main street seats

  • Some delay  -  10 awaiting installation.

c.  Main Street lighting

  • No action  -    Remove from agenda.

d.  bus shelter

  • To be installed at No 41 and 111 Main St.

3.  Pedestrian Crossing traffic survey

Negotiation between consultants Murray Young over price.  Costs to be shared 50/50 DCMB and DTPI

4.   Constitution.

  •  [revision based on model of Office of Business and Consumer Affairs.] July 2012
  • revised document has been distributed to all committee for comment.
  • sub committee scrutinized this, recommended certain clarifications, which were accepted at Committee 8/8/2012.

  •  subcommittee to finalise publicity, and process for presentation at AGM.

  • Seal in care of Secretary, Certificate of Incorporation being sought.

5.   Remembrance Day

Invitations sent, minister, MC , bugler booked.

6.   Heritage issues

 Sub Committee met 6.9.2012.

  •  Plan of action on track .  Village Voice article well received
  •  Continue to seek community support
  •  Contact made with Paul Eames senior planning officer,
  •  DCMB, initiating overdue communication with Council.
  •  Cr notified when an application 2 or 3 is lodged on Main St. which may give opportunity for intervention.

7.   AGM October 17th

  • Agenda to be prepared.
  • Advert in Courier, notice board, fliers.
  • All will publicise Constitution revision and opportunity to view and comment prior to 17/10.
  • All will ask ”What is concept of Heritage”and speaker.
  • Wine, beer, nibbles offered .  Photo exhibition.

HBTA working group

  • Nil

Council- State Government draft planning document being reviewed by Council

  • Need to contain urban sprawl/developers thus retention of each town identity.
  • linear trail extension to Littlehampton.
  • no further money for Hahndorf footpaths
  • no infrastructure money from State Government
  • [commonwealth] Super Clinic to be built adjacent hospital.
  • Query re large 3 hour parking signage – environmental ?

All evaluate prior to next meeting .

General Business

1.  TDU January 23rd

  • 2 passes.
  • Academy lawn ideal location to Showcase Hahndorf.
  • HCA permit for sausage sizzle.
  • Open dialogue with HBTA.
  • Keep effort simple. -  Action Ann.

  • Nil
