Where will you go?

The walk will be approximately 90 minutes of easy paced walking on flat ground suitable for all ages. Wheelchair accessible.   
Please bring whatever you need to ensure you are comfortable. 
If you need water, rain coat, hat, umbrella, etc please ensure you are prepared as we go in all weather.

The Hufen Spring Foodie Adventure is an event specially to celebrate Spring. It provides you with a 3 in 1 Experience. Strudel construction, Walking Tour and Lunch!

Please note that on Saturdays the timings shown below will be 30mins later eg Commencement time is 10.30am and back to the Inn to enjoy your meal and strudel  by 12.45pm.

10.00am Apple Strudel construction at the Hahndorf Inn with exclusive access before the Inn opens to the public. The chef will take you through the easy process of making a strudel with all ingredients and utensils provided. Yes, gluten free pastry is available on request at time of booking.

10.30am Hufendorf Tour Your guide will meet you at the Hahndorf Inn where you will commence your tour.

You will then be taken to St Michael’s Lutheran church – again you have exclusive access! and then onto the private properties of two local residents only 5mins from the church. There you will hear stories of the immigrants and the how they survived in this new South Land of Australia.

Did I say you have exclusive access? That’s 3!

The Tour concludes at 11.45am at the Pioneer Memorial Park.

11.45-12.15pm Amble back to the Hahndorf Inn via Humbugs for your Dutch liquorice tasting, drop into the Germanic museum at the Hahndorf Academy or enjoy looking into some of our specialty shops on the way back to the Hahndorf Inn for your meal.

12.15pm Delicious lunch to enjoy at your leisure

Main course: Enjoy a Germanic cultural plate which includes a choice between two German sausages, potato salad with sliced dill, sauerkraut, side serve of mustard and a pretzel. Yes, a vegetarian option can be provided.

Dessert: The strudel which you made earlier in the day will be served with vanilla bean ice cream and cream.

A hot beverage or soft drink of your choice is also included.
