As of 2015, the parcel at 336 E. Ann St. is a surface parking lot, recalled by some residents to be the lot used by the former Ann Arbor News for employee parking, before the company was closed in 2009 and its building at Huron and Division sold.

  • 2015-5-18 The parcel at 336 E. Ann Street appears on the May 18, 2015 agenda of the Ann Arbor City Council in connection with a proposed zoning change for the property – from (Downtown Core Base District) to D2 (Downtown Interface Base District). As part of the same ordinance revision, 211, 219, 301, 331, 337, 341 East Huron Street and 336 East Ann Street will be reclassified from the  East Huron 2 Character District and Midtown Character Overlay Districts to East Huron 1 Character Overlay District. The item appears on the May 18 agenda as a "first reading" item. All ordinance changes must receive a majority of votes from the 11-member Council at a first reading and a second reading, which can come no sooner than the next regular meeting of the Council following approval at first reading.
