It appears that half of the 2008 Ann Arbor City Council will effectively be elected in the August 7, 2007 primary, as all known candidates are running as Democrats.
Candidates who have filed or are known to have taken out nominating petitions include:
- First Ward: John Roberts v. Sabra Briere v. Richard Wickboldt
- Winner Sabra Briere, 46%
- Second Ward: Stephen Rapundalo (inc.)
- Third Ward: Leigh Greden v. LuAnn Bullington (inc.)
- Winner Leigh Greden, 63%
- Fourth Ward: Marcia Higgins (inc.)
- Fifth Ward: Wendy Woods (inc.) v. Mike Anglin - Anglin is getting a lot of blog-press on AAiO and ArborUpdate for taking a hard, and questionably informed, anti-development tack.
- Winner Mike Anglin, 60%
