Bo Merlot is a "celebrity wine" that features a picture of the late University of Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler on the label. The first vintage was introduced in time for the 2008 football season, priced at $19.69 to recognize Schembechler's first year of coaching at Michigan. $2.00 from each bottle is donated to the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center.
In 2009, the label featured different photos of Schembechler, and the brand expanded to include Bo Blanc, a Sauvignon Blanc.

MS: The credit goes to Doug Wanty [vice president of Ann Arbor's O&W Distributors]. He worked with Cathy Schembechler on the “Heart of a Champion” golf outing, and Kim Eagle is a good friend of his. They had some conversations, just brainstorming, “Wouldn’t it be nice to have a wine label with Bo’s name on it?”
