Devon Akmon is an Ann Arbor resident and Director of the MSU Museum. He was formerly the executive director of the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn.

He served on the Ann Arbor public art commission, with a term running from Sept. 3, 2013 through Sept. 2, 2016. He was nominated to AAPAC by then-mayor John Hieftje, and was confirmed by a unanimous city council vote on Sept. 3, 2013.

In 2013, Akmon was named as one of Crain's Detroit Business 40-Under-40 community leaders.

Akmon is married to Dharma Akmon, an Ann Arbor City Council Member for Ward 4 and Assistant Research Scientist and Director of Product Management at ICPSR. The couple lives on the city's southwest side, near Pioneer High School.
