Swinging Southeast Michigan audiences for more than 35 years with a repertoire ranging from Duke Ellington and Miles Davis to Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, and the Blues Brothers, the II-V-I Orchestra sets the standard for versatility and useful music.

History

The Orchestra performed regularly during the 1970s in Ann Arbor at the Golden Falcon Supper Club and the Earle, and in Ypsilanti at the Spaghetti Bender and the Cross Street Club. Also during this period, the II-V-I Orchestra performed at the 1978 Ann Arbor Jazz Festival at Hill Auditorium.

In the 1980s the Orchestra played regularly at the Bird of Paradise, then moved to the Heidelberg in the 1990s. After several years at the Creekside Tavern they moved to the Alley Bar in Dexter, formerly the bowling alley. As of summer 2016, the Alley Bar closed and the band was without a regular gig for 6 months. The band still appears at various street festivals, block parties and private events. The II-V-I now plays regular shows on the last Sunday of every month from 6-8pm at Belmark Lanes in Ann Arbor.
