Susan Burek is the treasurer of Augusta Township.

In the August 2012 primary election, Burek lost by three votes to challenger Lynda H. Dew. She will be a write-in candidate for the position in the November 2012 general election.

​Burek said she lost by three votes and a recount was filed with the Washtenaw County Board of Canvassers. The board would not recount 2 of the 3 precincts because they deemed the zippered cases holding those precincts ballots were not sealed correctly, she said.
