Catherine Lord, who directs the University of Michigan Autism and Communication Disorders Center, said she is leaving to head the Institute for Brain Development, a new, joint effort between Columbia University Medical Center, Weill Cornell Medical College and New York-Presbyterian Hospital scheduled to open at the end of 2012.

Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals with autistic spectrum disorders and their families through the education of current and future leaders in the field, research that enhances the understanding of causation, intervention, prevention, and course, and provision of clinical services to individuals, families and the community.
