Northwest Community Hospital--Chronic Illness Support Groups
Description: Chronic Illness Northwest Community Ostomy Support Group Meets monthly (the third Wednesday of each month) from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at the Learning Center Rooms LC-7 and LC-8. The Learning Center is located in the lower level of the Busse Center for Specialty Medicine, located on the Hospital main campus. The ostomy support group is open to anyone with a bowel or urinary diversion, their support person/caregiver, and anyone facing possible surgery. The group meetings feature speakers, vendor presentations, group support, and ostomy nurses who are available for your questions. Meetings are informal; no registration is required. We are a chapter of the United Ostomy Association of America (UOAA). For more information, call group facilitator Diane Davis-Zeek at 847.618.3222. Parkinson’s Support Group Meets the second Thursday of every other month from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road. Format varies monthly and features guest speakers, education, and open discussion. Individuals with Parkinson’s, their family, friends, and caregivers are welcome. At select meetings, caregivers and families meet separately from individuals with Parkinson’s.
