Le Roy, Illinois:   

Le Roy, IL has something to interest everyone. The community of nearly 4,000 is family oriented and enjoys various park, recreation and dining options. It is seated on the hub of Interstate 74 and state highways 150 and 136, providing easy access to the amenities of Bloomington-Normal and Champaign-Urbana.

Bars: 

TailGaters Pub - This is a where a portion of the locals are on the weekend. TailGaters is located right off of Route 150, so it's easy to locate. This is also a perfect place to stop by while on your way from Bloomington to Champaign. Sometimes there are different local bands who play on Saturday nights, or karaoke nights open to the public. They serve snacks and also have indoor/outdoor seating. 

Country Club:

Le Roy's Country Club is the only golf course that resides in Le Roy. The golf course announced it's opened in 1921 and known for it's par 71 layout. The golf course is also home to the boys and girls high school golf team in Le Roy. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner to members seven days a week. Members can schedule parties, or spend time with others at the clubhouse bar. Members get many benefits including a pool. The Country Club stays open until November 1st, but other parties can be scheduled during their closed season. 

Gas Stations: 

Casey's - Casey's is located off Route 150 when you first come into town. They usually have lowest gas prices in town. They have friendly staff that are willing to help. This is also a good place for posting signs for garage sales or lost pets. They have many people pass through during the day to see these signs. Casey's is open until 11 pm each night.

Freedom - Freedom is located just a little farther down Route 150. It is toward the middle of town and is not a very popular gas station in Le Roy. Out of all the gas stations in Le Roy, Freedom is the one that most frequently experiences break ins and robberies. 

Love's - Love's is the most popular gas station in the town because it is right off the interstate and is connected to an Arby's. Love's is open 24/7 and is very well lit. The only downfall of Love's is that it usually has higher gas prices in comparison to the others in town. 

Shell - She is a less used gas station, although it is right off the interstate just like loves and also has a restaurant connected to it. There are still some trucks that stop there for the night instead of Love's. 

 

Le Roy Museum:                                                                                              

The Le Roy museum is located in the basement of the Library that is in town, and there is also a church located on the other side of the Library as well. The museum has rotating exhibits including: a bicycle, from the late 1800's and an original New York Herald newspaper announcing the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. It also has hands on materials from children who visit. The museum has actualy just been recently renovated, and they used colors that were used in the 1982 Opera House on the walls along with murals depiciting life in Empire Township during the 1800's. Admission is free and the entrance to the museum is handicap accessible!

Parks and Recreation:

Bowman - This park is located on E Center St, across from Crumbaugh Memorial Library. It was named  in honor of Randy C. Bowman (A long-time teacher and coach in the Le Roy school system). This park has a basketball court, a tennis court, and a pavilion. This is the most common park since it is right across from the high school. The high school and junior high students spend most of their gym period here, playing different sports. 

Gaultney Memorial Park - This park is located on the North West side of town and is named in honor of the Gaultney Brother's who passed away during WWII. This park has a playground along with a butterfly garden and a sand volleyball court. This is a park that is less visited because it's an odd part of town, but still a very safe park to take children. 

Kiwanis - This park is located in the center of town and is known as "the circle" because of the park shape. This park includes an indian cheif lain statue and a canon from the Spanish-American war, and also commemorative markers and the band stand. This park is utilized for most of Le Roy's community celebrations and festivals. Kiwani park is more of an adult type of park, there are not play areas for children, but there are many historical things including a tribute to Le Roy's police dog who passed away in 2012. 

Replex - The Replex was opened in 2009 and was built where Le Roy's first school was located. The Replex has an outdoor and indoor pool. The indoor pool is open for members and non members all year long. They also have things like a: track, basketball court, batting cage area, childcare, and a weight room. The Replex offers classes for people of all ages, either in the aerobics room, or in the indoor pool. The Replex has an anual Reverse Raffle to raise money for the people in the community that can't pay for memberships. Restaurants:

Arby's - A very common fast food chain that is located on Persimmon drive. It's connected to the Love's truck stop, so it's moderately busy. Just like Love's, Arby's is open 24/7. 

Jack's - Jack's cafe is located across from Love's at 210 Sunset Drive. Jack's is a great family restaurant. They are known for their homemade soups and their tasty fried chicken. They are open from 6AM to 10PM everyday and they serve breakfast all day as well. Jack's was built in 2008 and has keep their number of customers increasing. McDonald's - McDonald's is also a very well-known fast food chain. The McDonald's in Le Roy is open from 5:30AM to 11PM. 

Pizzeria Roma - Pizzeria Roma was opened in December 2012. It was recently known as Roma Ralph's, but came under new management in 2012 to a local family. The whole family works together to make Pizzeria Roma a great family environment to dine. http://www.pizzeriaromaleroy.com/

Subway - Subway is the third place that Le Roy has that is a chain restaurant. Its hours are open from 7AM to 9:30PM. The staff are usually nice and willing to help get your meal to you quickly.

Woody's - Woody's is a great family restaurant now that they are under new management. They are connected to the Shell gas station right off Interstate I-74. They are located at 805 South Hemlock. http://www.woodysfamilybuffet.com/

 

Schools:

Le Roy Elementary - This schools mission statement includes that they set high expectations for their students learning and conduct in their school. This school serves: ECSE, Pre-K, Right Start, and Kindergarten through 6th grade. Le Roy's elementary school also allows high school seniors teach classes for a semester if they're interested in pursuing a teaching career. 

Le Roy Jr high & High school - The Junior high and high school are put together into one school in Le Roy. Their mission statement includes that they provide programs that meet the needs and interests of all students. The high school was just recently rebuilt in 2005 and now has two gymnasiums, 3 computer labs, and a newly built stage for the theater department. Le Roy has a football field and an all weather track, but it's in a different location. LHS has many of their own teams for sports, for example, baseball and basketball; however, they also do co-op teams with Tri-Valley, for instance, track and cross country. 

Stores/Shopping:

Cut, Curl & More - This has been a women's hair and beauty place in Le Roy for the past several years. It's the perfect place for teens to get their hair and nails done for homecoming or prom. It is located on the East side of Route 150.

Den Graphix - Den Graphix is local shop for all your Panther apparel (referring to the Le Roy mascot). They have sweatshirts for any kind of sport that Le Roy has as well as different things you can take to games to show your Le Roy team spirit. Den Graphix is also Le Roy High School's place to go for having t-shirts made. Den Graphix is located across from Teddy Buckmen's on Chestnut Street.

Dollar General - Dollar General is Le Roy's main place to go for things you need around the house. From a frozen pizza to hair/beauty supplies. Their grocery supply is small, but they have other household things that are needed. The Dollar General is one left turn off of Route 150, by the new fire station.

Faith 2nd chance thrift store - The name says it all. Faith second chance thrift store is a place to take your clothes that you're not longer using. They have a store that is mainly for furniture and another that is mainly for clothing. This is also where the Le Roy High School Drama department gets most of its supplies for their theater productions. Faith 2nd chance thrift store is located down town Le Roy on Center street by Kiwanis park.
