TOPS SUPERMARKET

HISTORY

The very first TOPS supermarket was opened in the early 1920s when Ferrante Castellani decided to move from his village which was outside of Rome, Italy to Niagara Falls, NY this is where Castellani opened his first small neighborhood grocery store. Castellani sons eventually took over the business and opened two more grocery stores under the name Great Bear Market. In 1962 the brothers decided to formally change the supermarket's name to TOPS because they were determined to give customers the best shopping experience, In the lingo of the 60's that meant it was  "tops".

TOPS  aims to give their customers an outstanding shopping experience. TOPS employees work hard to ensure that every customer need is met. At TOPS they promise the customers convenience, variety, freshness, and more ways they can save money. At TOPS they make sure they offer their customers variety, TOPS provides a one-stop shopping experience.
