Joseph or "Joe" Pera is a comedian who was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He is currently based in New York City and is the writer, producer, and lead on the Adult Swim show, Joe Pera Talks With You
Early Life
Not much is known about Pera's early life but he has stated in interviews that he grew up in Buffalo and claims to be "familiar with the trees" here. He later went to Ithaca College for film while also competing and winning the school's stand-up competition three times. After graduating, he moved to New York City to pursue stand-up as a career, attending open mic nights as often as he could.
Career
After doing stand-up in New York City, Pera made his first television appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers in 2016. Later that year, Pera had his first television special titled Joe Pera Talks You Back to Sleep which aired on Adult Swim. Pera currently has his own series, Joe Pera Talks With You, on Adult Swim.
Comedy Style
Pera's comedy is characterized by his slow, "grandfatherly" manner of speaking and timid demeanor. Many of his jokes revolve around his character's social awkwardness, naivety, and lampooning modern American culture. He has been described as an anti-comedian.1

Pera is a self-proclaimed Buffalo Bills fan and even has a joke where he asserts that they're the "best team in the league"2
