- Get out of the house or apartment. Bundle up and find something to do (Cafes, Outdoor Activities, WiFi Hot Spots, and check the Events Board).
- Buy a full spectrum lamp, costly but worth the expense
- Put sandbags in your truck bed and snow tires on your car
- Buy a snow shovel and keep it in your car
- Buy a new ice scraper, leave wipers lifted off glass at night, keep a spray de-icer and a lock de-icer for quick cleanup and access to your car.
- Buy a remote starter

- Avoid drunken sledding
- Walk instead of driving, the City of Buffalo and surrounding areas use sidewalk plows to keep the sidewalks clear.
- Take a walk outside during lunch to get some sun.
