BuffaloBobWiki's BufWiki Class 101 is an example of a Teachers page for a class titled BufWiki 101.

BufWiki 101

Introduction

BufWiki 101 provides the student with communications skills development by requiring the student to select a useful topic, research the topic, develop and enter the material into the Buffalo Wiki (BufWiki) using the wiki syntax and technology.

Students will be graded on their use of resource material, organization, writing skills, and appropriate use of the applicable wiki technology. Student material entered onto BufWiki must follow the rules and guidelines provided by the wiki, especially with respect to copyright infringement.

Enrollment

Students must perform the following steps:

  • Register with the wiki and create an appropriate user page.
  • Edit the Class List page and add a link to their user page.
  • Create a project page for each project under their User Page as described below.
  • List links to their project page(s) on their user page under the header BufWiki 101

Project Steps

For each project the student will create a page under their user name with an appropriate BufWiki Page Name. The initial content of the page will be a brief outline of the expected page content; the student will save the page with the outline content. The instructor will review Revision 1 for completeness of the task. The student will also click on the Talk button for each page and write a brief statement on the Talk page describing the rationale for selecting the topic and the purpose it will serve on BufWiki.
