WBNY Sports is a department of 91.3 FM, WBNY in Buffalo, New York at Buffalo State College. The sports department specializes in sports programming through their "All Talk Monday" shows and with weekly podcasts on Podbean. The station has alternative music programming the rest of the week. The department also broadcasts live sporting events around the Buffalo State campus, such as Basketball , Football, Hockey and Soccer.
Location:
The shows and podcasts broadcast from the WBNY studios at the Campbell Student Union at Buffalo State College. Podcasts take place in "Studio B", while the live shows are taken place through "Studio A." The station itself has been around since 1982.
History:
The sports department has changed over the years as more interest in sports has taken place at WBNY and therefore, the sports.department has grown significantly in popularity. Shows like "The Blitz" and "Neutral Ice" have been around for over 10 years, with different current students running the shows. While current students are the bulk of the people involved, alumni like Nick Lippa, Frank Arcury and Lars Lewis also help out with programming and broadcasting live sports when needed,
