The Tennessee Riverwalk is a 13-mile multi-use path along the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga. Considered one of downtown's main attractions, the Riverwalk is part of the Tennessee Riverpark system, which is jointly managed by Hamilton County Government and City of Chattanooga Government.
The Riverwalk currently extends between Ross's Landing in downtown Chattanooga and the Chickamauga Dam on the south bank, and Rennaissance Park to Coolidge Park on the north bank, although several phases of extensions are planned, including the southern extension to St. Elmo and the Lookout Mountain Trail System.
Riverwalk Features
Restroom Facilities and ADA accessibility of entry points are noted on the Tennessee Riverwalk Map (click on individual entry points). Some of these also have Bicycle Repair Stands, which have all the tools for basic bike repair, as well as an air pump.
Access Points
Downtown: From the south end of the walnut street bridge, cross the glass pedestrian bridge heading toward the Hunter Museum of Art, then continue straight past the Hunter parking lot and follow the hill down until you reach a staircase/ramp near the Bluff View Art District sculpture garden. This begins the Riverwalk segment beyond downtown, heading toward the Chickamauga Dam.
Along Amnicola: There are multiple entry points off Amnicola Highway, designated by Tennessee Riverpark signs.
