Ali Sarsour was a candidate for the Chico 2008 City Council election. According to the Butte County Clerk's Office, Ali received 10056 votes at 10.54% of the voting population1
Ali has been an active member of the Chico community for many years and is widely known for his culinary skills.
Ali Sarsour is a longtime Chicoan who grew up in the town of Al-bireh, near Ramallah in the West Bank. He came to the United States in 1967 and to Chico in 1970. He studied political science at Chico State University, where he was active in student government.2
