Chico takes Bike Commute Month seriously. Throughout the month, bikes are brought to the forefront of community discussion by organizations such as Chico Velo and the Butte Bicycle Coalition. Bike week is May 10-17 and the goal is for you to Bike Chico! On May 10th, PedalFest has special events, demonstrations, exhibits, and contests at the City Plaza. Then throughout the week, "Energizer Stations" are positioned around the city to encourage bicycling with refreshments and support. They are at the City Plaza, the Euro Cafe, In Motion Fitness, and Chico State. They operate Monday through Friday and are generally open by 7am but may be subject to change.
Bicyclers can also enjoy these activities:
- Flat tire workshop, May 11 at 5:30pm at City Plaza
- Riding class, May 14, 5-7pm at Cycle Sport
- Watch Breaking Away, May 13, 7-10pm at Holt Hall 170
