STAR Community Credit Union is a credit union in downtown Chico. This credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that offers all of the services as a bank such as checking and savings accounts.

Membership is open to all employees, alumni and students of CSU Chico, Butte Community College, and members of other select groups. Please see the website for more detail.

The free checking account has no monthly fee and no minimum monthly balance. The first order of checks is free. STAR ATMs are free. The first four uses of any Co-Op ATM per month is free as well. The Co-Op ATM network includes over 28,000 credit union ATMs across the country.

Every member's funds are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration. Your money is just as safe at a credit union as it is at a bank.
