The Greek Festival (http://www.clevelandgreek.com/) is an annual event at the Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral. There are traditional dancing performances, tons of Greek foods to taste, a flea market, some Greek food supplies (such as pasta for Pastitsio, mastika, etc) and jewelry sales. The proceeds supports the Cathedral and the local Greek community. There are various food venues both inside and outside with home cooked Greek casseroles and dishes.

Some of the dishes served include:

  • Saganaki (Greek fried cheese served with lemon and pita)
  • Moussaka (eggplant, potato, ground meat dish)
  • Spanakopita (spinach and feta baked in philo)
  • Souvlaki (Greek-style grilled lamp, beef, or pork served with rice)

There are also a variety of desserts and Greek pastries including:

  • Galaktobouriko (delicately flavored custard in phyllo)
  • Loukoumades (deep-fried dough balls dipped in honey syrup)
  • Mussakka . There are a variety of desserts and Greek pastries such as:
  • Baklava (layers of walnut-filled phyllo, with light honey)
  • Baklava Sundae
  • Kataifi (long strings of special baked batter filled with walnuts)
  • Rizogalo (Greek-style rice pudding)
