Brian Dolinar is a father, activist, author, and scholar of African American literature and culture from the Depression era.  His work includes The Negro in Illinois (2013),  The Black Cultural Front: Black Writers and Artists of the Depression Generation (2012), and articles for the likes of Langston Hughes ReviewSouthern Quarterly, Studies in American Humor​, and the Public i.
