Michael Schwegmann grew up in St. Louis and now lives in Urbana, Illinois. He holds a degree from the University of Illinois and has spent the last twenty years making and selling ceramic sculptures. His porcelain sculptures portray everyday objects and icons that represent a filter or memory of that object. Most of his subjects are identified with work and labor and are symbols that may speak to an entire industry.

You can find examples of Michael's work at Schwegmann Studios or at Abel Contemporary Gallery.
