On Avenue B, there is a disused fire station. It is condemned and will fall to pieces if you touch it from the inside, so don't go in.
The building is actually an unused Fire Station, built 1930. It was one of two fire stations built that year, the other at 1515 North Elm. It contained an upstairs apartment for the captain and his family. A new station , built on the corner of Ave A and Underwood, replaced it in 1971 .
