Hailing from a city known more for its folk-rock and jazz offerings, Denton's Human Groove Hormone is bringing back a long-awaited, yet engaging new sound. By taking strong influence from the great Progressive Rock bands of the late 60's and 70's and fusing that with the attitude of trained jazz/rock musicians, Human Groove Hormone will leave you craving more. Thick harmonies, addictive melodies, and edgy vocals will make you fist pump and air drum with fervor. With their newly released first full length album, “Self [En]titled,” the group calls music lovers everywhere to chow down on their specialty blend of progressive rock, funk, Latin, and jazz in a hearty serving that has been brewing since early 2009.

Human Groove Hormone excels at crashing any party with a solid wall of attitude and a live energy left unrivaled in the local music scenes. Since the group’s inception, HGH has been relentlessly raising the action and lighting up venues across Texas and Louisiana with an intensity that makes any audience want to rock out, and a musical sensibility that continually lights up the aural landscape of seasoned musicians. Passion at its groovy finest, these five young men have honed their abilities through classical training, jazz study, and a wide variety of influence to bring a fresh sound to the scene -- and they look good doing it.

With ambitious song-writing and a far from familiar sound, the quintet from Denton, TX is a torch bearer of Progressive Rock to a younger generation. Match the fiery passion of college-aged musicians with the rehearsed musicality of older performers, and you may as well be holding lightening in a bottle.
